Description
The Birthday List Portlet provides a container to view all the users who have birthday yesterday, today or tomorrow. This portlet extract date of birth attribute saved as part of Liferay User profile and based on which displays list of users who have birthdays in different sections. It allows logged in user to send birthday wish mails to one or more user at a time, by allowing user to choose from 3 defaults message templates or to create a wish message of his own.

Features
• List the users in 3 different tabs 'Yesterday', 'Today' or 'Tomorrow' based on their birth date stored.
• Allows sending birthday wish mail to one or more user at a time.
• Users have option to choose 1 of the 3 default messages or can send a custom message.
• If today is Monday then 'Yesterday' section will display the user list whose birthday was either on Saturday or Sunday in last week.
• Similarly if today is Friday then 'Tomorrow' section will display the user list whose birthday is coming either on Saturday or Sunday in the week.
• Can send birthday wish mail to one more user available in the user list through a Liferay Popup.

Installation Instructions

This is a Legacy App that is no longer available in the new App Marketplace. You are able to acquire it from your installed DXP or CE instance and install it by following the instructions below.

Acquiring this App through the legacy Liferay Portal Store

  1. Review app documentation for any specific installation instructions.
  2. Login to your Liferay Portal instance with administrative permissions.
  3. Navigate to the Control Panel, Marketplace (or Apps for 7.3 and prior), then Store.
  4. If needed, login to your Liferay.com account by choosing Sign In.
  5. Search for the app name in the Search dialog.
  6. Once the app is found, click on the app in the search results.
  7. On the app details page, choose to acquire the app by selecting the Free, Buy, or Trial button.
  8. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the acquisition.

Installing this App through legacy Liferay Portal Purchased Apps

  1. After acquiring the app, login to your Liferay Portal instance with administrative permissions.
  2. Navigate to the Control Panel, Marketplace (or Apps for 7.3 and prior), then Purchased.
  3. If needed, login to your Liferay.com account by choosing Sign In.
  4. Click the Install button to install your app on your Liferay Portal instance.
